This Lorch 8mm came to me as part of a watchmakers estate. The lathe was previously driven with a Singer sewing machine motor and foot pedal. The foot pedal was inoperative and the motor suspect and all the wiring would have had to be replaced anyway. I decided to use a modern variable frequency drive with 120V single phase input and 230V three phase output, driving a 1/4 HP 230V three phase motor with custom made pulley.
